60s Bollywood
1960s Bollywood is the most fabulous, energetic, musically wonderful and let's face it, well dressed. Golden dresses and shoes, beehives, mysterious black masks, suited men and all the head shaking you could ever imagine or hope to see in a life time. The music is a great example of how to combine traditional music with 60s hawaiian style lounge. You can even hear the raw mariachi trumpets in the background. Actually some of the songs from this film were heavily borrowed from Henry Mancini's music from the film 'Charade' with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. It makes for a rather grand, up-beat sound. The male singer in his immaculate white suit...The Indian John Waters? (Well he does have a pencil thin moustache) is actually the famous Mohammed Rafi a Bollywood legend.
This clip from the 1965 film 'Gumnaam'. In English the word means unknown or anonymous hence for those wonderful masks in the clip below. You might also remember this clip from 'Ghost World' and since has a bit of a cult following. Enjoy!

Bjork and Alexander McQueen Show
Bjork fashion rock gets pretty with Alexander McQueen many years ago...There has always been eccentric characters to entertain us. Eccentric meaning they have money therefore they aren't crazy and living on the streets like bums. I guess you could say that Lady Gaga is the newest to join to coocoo club. Thank-god we have entertainers who like to dress up and make spectacles! Keep up with the inspiration folks, it's rather fun to watch.

Piping like a marshmellow
As one gets a little older and a little more wise and old, one becomes all gooey inside like a delicious marshmellow that's just been roasted on the camp fire. All charred, burnt, on fire and a little bitter on the sides but oh so sugary, sweet and satisfied on the inside. Piping, it does it to me everytime. I melt when I see it poking out of the leather upper and when it's in contrast colour oh the turkish delight inside of me jumps for joy (especially if it's covered in chocolate like Fry's). It take's a pair of hands, love and time to it right!

just enough
How very dainty and feminine, bags that fit just enough for the practical gal. Vintage styles and leather the old ostrich gets plucked out of the mothball closet and a powdery baby pink makes a cute debut. It's the old Masculine Feminine inter marriage that'sspreading like wildfire across the fashion plans with a strong hint of retro. Nothing too fancy or overdone for these babes but as long as it keeps their lipstick safe...well now, who's complaining?
Red Booties
I like these Red Booties, they have a real cobbler feel to them, dare I say Robin Hood? The skill of handcraft artisan is a dying art. Such a shame but it is so time consuming and expensive. The coolest thing was that this lassie was dressed in a very 'art/drama teacher' 1980s black layering dramatic attire and then POW! Red Shoes!

Pope Slippers
Nothing is more sacred than that of the Pope's slippers also known as the humble Loafer. How fitting of the designer to have the foresight to add a halo and devil's horns. Good Vs. Evil, the Left Vs. the Right, Black Vs. White, Angelina Jolie Vs. Megan Fox...Oh the drama, oh the tears. At least in a pair of loafers you can be truly divine.
