D+G in the village

Only Dolce & Gabbana can make a summer time 'Festa' from all the little villages around Italy a bright light extravaganza or window display.  Hello Italian summer childhood, it's the 90s again and they are pumping it like no other Versace gem encrusted loving supermodel fan (with black velvet).  Yes, that's right ordinary garlic strands, fruit and veg are now considered genius window display.  Oh please, oogly boogerly.

It all just screams out 'George Michael' like a men's public toilet at 2am in the morn.

Vintage Reel

This is so fabulous I just want to vomit sparkle rainbows all over the joint.  If I ever look like a peppermint stick shoot me already!  I love the way a gaudy print is considered to be a fashionable statement hood included.  Now a gaudy print is a New Jersey Shore nickname.

Eternal Flame

As a dear friend of mine pointed out to me Prada is my animal spirit label, though I can not afford you I think dearly of you.  You are the flame of desire.  Hmmmm pretty.

Why and how I know all the words to this song baffles the mine but hell it makes a for a good case.  Wholesome 80s for ya.

The real reason

The real reason to go to the Fuori Salone is to peak into spaces and offices that are usually offlimits.  Screw the rather dubious 'muscle relaxer' that possibily doubles as sex toy apparatus or the barefoot sock booties trapped in fetish rubber lines and straps or the over priced bamboo chicness.  Just give me some damn pimping 18th century wallpaper, frescos and beautiful staircases, crystal chandeliers and neck aches from looking up.

Charmed but not delighted

My favourite so far (Fuori Salone): Cuteness, when it's small and nostalgic, you can't help but be enchanted by it's quaintness.  The saddest part was when I returned only after an hour it was destroyed....You bastards, free art can't even be appreciated or respected.  My fists wave bitterly unto yee insolent heathens I fart in your general direction.

Milano Furniture Week 2012 - Fuori Salone Part1

This has been my third Milano Furniture Week and by far, so far that is, the worst of the lot...The same old shit, different year.  What's to blame?  European economic crisis?  Laziness?  Lack of stimulation, direction?  When times get tough, that's when you pull out the big thinking guns, no?  Fuck, I hope today's adventure gets better.

Going 'West' again

Our patron saint's holy grail of footwear.  Yes another pair has been found...Thanks to the very sweet Paul Leroy, check out his blog.   Shear vanity was to blame for these puppies, long dress (t'was the style of the time) to conceal that the pint sized Mae, was shorter than just plain short.  This woman had taste though, it's an elegant last, lovingly designed and luxurious materials used.  I still want to know who the cobbler was.  If anyone knows tell me, tell us all.

Photo found from either Bonhams, Julien's or Profiles in History

Midnight Blue Lucid Shoe

Midnight blue lucid shoes.  Sounds like a song, ping pong dong?  Errr Tra la la la la, la la?
I'm a sucker for a loafer, yeah a shiny mysterious loaferino, with tassles.  Cobalt tassles of the finest leather crafted with love.  Italian love, splattered with sugo, not sauce.  Sauce is for shit soggy french fries or how normal people call them 'chips'.  It's daringly so charming, it's a Cary Grant shoe better yet a Vittorio De Sica without socks.   Have you noticed how the (well, at least the Milanese youth) have been wearing loafers without socks, doesn't it stink up?  Would there be discoloured sweat stains inside?  And when you kick em' off for the day, does the GF or BF throw you out for stink feet and ruining a beautiful pair?  Hells yeah you bastard you just ruined a nice pair of shoes!  I know it's cool to go without the sock  so maybe wear a masculine sockette with?  Do they make masculine sockettes?  Would the rather masculine man bother to wear it? Afterall it is just a very small nylon stocking.  It'd be like wearing tights underneath pants, long johns (attire, not the donut).  No one would see it.

B'oh?  Don't ask.

Slightly drooling for man shoe and man who wears it without stink feet.

Kayne West For Giuseppe Zanotti

I know these sandal pumps are getting a bit of a thrashing mainly due to the exorbidant price tag...more than 4000 euros also probably because it has the Kayne West name attached.  I guess he really pissed a whole bunch of chumps off when he leaped onto the  stage, babbled and left a brain fart for pop culture.  I cough loudly.    Well now, do I dare admit that as a piece of footwear art I actually like them.  Yes I do.  I have a great respect for this display of beading work, and it is of quality.  The manufacture, the finishing, the materials, THE TIME spent.  The design is technically thoughtful and matured.   It has a wonderful pure tribal/ethnic feel about it, a little ChaChi if you will (I don't know what exactly ChaChi is) and if you have fat ankles no-one will ever know.

I couldn't resist but add a Toto classic.

Love Hotel Pink

Love Hotel pink is bright and obvious.   Can you guess what i'm thinking?  Cheap comes at a cost, elegance is something your born with and wisdom is something you experience.

Grow, with love.

Shoe Vid

For those who could not attend Fashion week Paris 2012 (filmed in 2011), here is a delightful snippet featuring a bucket load of tasty fried footwear.  I do not know the name of the author of this clip but they sure know about good music.  My vote, two thumbs up!!

Meet the jungle

Green snake skin dudes and dudettes, could be trashy but Pollini here with their fine elegant last and design makes me go, ooooooooo!

Dior Spring/Summer 2012

This is fashion.  Timeless with a twist.

Note how some of the models have 'personality'.  What a treat, we all need a bit of theatrical entertainment in our fashion life.  Is that Cameron Diaz in the polka dot dress?
